Summer Bible Study Week #1

What a thoughtful few days of study already!

I started this blog, so I can post information, thoughts, and other ideas while living in the River Green community.  Nothing "official," just a wife, mom, and neighbor who desires for a deeper connection to those around.  It's also a great way to document our journey as we live in this wonderful community.  We are so thankful for the six months we have been here, and it sure makes saying goodbye to Texas/New Mexico friends and family a little easier.

Week one of our Summer Bible Study was amazing!  It was so wonderful to meet other women in the neighborhood, and hear their desperate desire to dig deeper in God's Word corporately.  The first meeting was just a "kick off" of sorts, and the days that follow are of individual study time.  We will meet this Tuesday, and discuss Session One (5 days of study), and if you were not able to make the first week please consider joining us. We would LOVE for you to join this week. No attendance taken, no homework checked!  The link on the bottom of this post will take you to the first week video clip.

I can hardly wait to hear what's been turning in the hearts of others.  For those who will miss, I think this will be a great way to keep you connected.  Click here to watch Week #1.

Tonight's question to consider:  Do you primarily look at fellowship from a standpoint of what you can receive, or what you can give?  How does this make a difference in your expectations when engaging in Christian relationships?

Quick confession:  I'd rather meet 200 strangers in a professional setting, than 20 new people in a church setting?  Why?  Should we (the body of Christ) not be more approachable to those around us? When those around you hear that you are a Christ follower, why does it make it a bit awkward?  What can we do to tear down those barriers so it's no longer an awkward situation, rather one of comfort and acceptance?

Ending on this:

Philippians 2:1-5

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
